Origins: Futsal originated in Uruguay in 1930 and quickly spread throughout South America, particularly in Brazil.
Name: The term âfutsalâ comes from the Spanish words âfĂștbol salaâ or âfĂștbol de salĂłn,â which mean âindoor soccer.â
Playing Surface: Futsal is played on a hard court, typically indoors, with a smaller, low-bounce ball.
